Private Pilot Licence Requirements
Ensure you’re prepared for success by meeting the following prerequisites:
- Valid Student Pilot Permit (SPP).
- Minimum Category 1 or 3 Medical Certificate.
- At least 45 hours of ground school instruction.
- 25 hours of dual flight training and 20 hours of solo flight training.
- Successful completion of the Transport Canada Private Pilot Written Exam (minimum 60%).
- Completion of the Private Pilot Flight Test with a Transport Canada examiner.
Note: Private Pilots in Canada cannot be hired or charge their passengers for the flight. However, you may reasonably split rental fees, gas, and other associated costs.

At Air Pocket Adventures you will not be taught the bare bones needed to pass a flight test, you will be taught the skills to make you an adept lifetime pilot, whether or not you intend to pursue more than a private licence. This does not mean that training will take longer than is necessary, apply yourself and Jack will have you ready for your ride within the minimum hours.
